Man jailed in woman’s shooting

A Calgary man is headed to jail for seven years after shooting a woman in an argument over furniture.
Oleh Serdyk, 25, went to the woman’s downtown apartment in February of last year to retrieve some furniture she had taken from a friend of his.
That’s when he confronted her and put a loaded gun to her head.
She called out to her boyfriend; the two men struggled and the gun went off, hitting her in the arm.
The judge said the heavy sentence was handed down because someone could easily have been killed in the fight.
