Calgary Zoo creating new crane colony

North America’s tallest birds are getting some help from the Calgary Zoo to boost their numbers.

There are only 300 Whooping Cranes left in the world’s wild population.

The National Post reports experts at the zoo have managed to foster dozens of the bird eggs.

Those will be taken to the United States Gulf Coast to hatch.
