Restaurant prices less appetizing

We’re seeing higher prices at the grocery store and that means we’ll have to pay more at our favourite eateries.
The higher food prices are becoming hard to swallow for restaurants which have to shrink meal portions, change the menu or increase prices.
A spokesman with the Calgary Academy of Chefs and Cooks tells the Calgary Sun they’ve noticed that the produce isn’t lasting as long and the quality is deteriorating.
The price of lettuce has gone from 98 cents to more than $2-per head while bread has also gone up.
Canadian baker George Weston Ltd. recently announced prices would rise an average of 5 per cent on April 1st, with a warning of more price hikes to come.
