Alberta green spending to plunge

The red ink in Alberta’s latest budget is blotting out green spending in the province.
Funding for initiatives that fight climate change is slated to drop 95 per cent in about two years.
Much of the decrease is coming because the federal government has decided to cut a program which gives provinces money for projects that decrease greenhouse gas emissions.
The Calgary Herald reports the province is also axing several green programs, including one that gives rebates for furnace and boiler upgrades.
