Alison Redford wants to scrap the controversial Land Stewardship Act.
The Tory leadership hopeful says people are confused by the legislation and because of that, she wants all activity associated with it suspended.
This is the first major policy split by a candidate hoping to replace Premier Ed Stelmach, according to The Calgary Herald.
The Land Stewardship Act has sparked anger among many rural Albertans who say it takes away some of their property rights.
The Stelmach government says it’s necessary for future development.
