Flood support for Southern Alberta

The Stelmach government is spending more than $1-million on flood management projects in Southeastern Alberta.

The majority of the grant will go towards financing emergency management preparations in the region that include portable dams, tubing, temporary berms and sandbags.

The rest of the money is for flood hazard mapping studies, starting in the Cypress Hills.

The program will expand over the next two years to other communities and its budget will increase to $1.5-million dollars.
