University of Calgary requests its students in Japan return

The University of Calgary is asking any of its students currently in Japan for any reason — including for study — to leave the country as soon as they can.
The facility adds it does not make the request lightly, as it values its partnerships with Japanese institutions.
The U of C says it will help students in Japan with travel arrangements, including some costs, if needed.
Arrangements will also be made with partner universities to let U of C students finish courses they are taking there, by other means.
