Olympic Oval closes for renovations

The Olympic Oval has shut down for a few months.

The monument to Calgary’s stint as Winter Olympic host is expected to stay closed until at least August for repair work.

The renovations, including a replacement for the building’s leaky roof, are expected to cost around $9.7-million, but the original roof design will be kept.

Parts of the complex are slated to re-open by August with the rest of the repairs expected to be done by fall.
