ParkPlus overloads during lunch hour

Calgary’s parking authority is looking into why frustrated drivers couldn’t pay with their cellphones during a busy lunch hour.

The ParkPlus system got so overloaded Tuesday that cellphone payers couldn’t activate or end parking sessions.

Right now, the system hits capacity if more than 48 people call in at the same time.

The parking authority tells The Calgary Herald they plan to boost that capacity to 72 people; a 50 per cent increase.
