Spring election looking likely

The Harper Tories could fall as soon as Thursday afternoon during a vote on a Bloc Quebecois move to amend the federal budget.
The Liberals are expected to declare by Thursday whether they will call for a confidence vote on Friday hooked to a Commons committee’s finding the Conservative government is in contempt of Parliament.
The committee made that finding earlier this week.
With the prospect of an election becoming very real, 660News went to the street Wednesday morning to ask Calgarians how they feel about going back to the polls for the fourth time in seven years.
Most people said they didn’t want another election.
One early riser who was getting his exercise at the Talisman Centre says he’s not significantly affected by the scandal that’s been swirling around the Conservative camp lately.
A lifelong Conservative supporter says given the past couple of weeks, she hopes this will be a wake up call for the Prime Minister and that this election will be the end of Michael Ignatieff’s term as Liberal leader.
If the government is defeated this week, an election could be held by early May.
