Harper skipping royal wedding

Kate Middleton and Prince William’s tying of the knot is being regarded as the event of the decade, but Canada’s leader won’t be there, because of the federal election.

Harper and his wife Laureen were expected to attend the big event in London on April 29th then something got in the way a national election.

The P.M. will be in the final push of campaigning as Canadians cast ballots on May 2nd.

However, a poll by Abacus Date Incorporated shows Canadians think the wedding is more important as 59% of those surveyed say he should hop the pond for the big day.

Canada will still be represented by Governor General David Johnston and his wife Sharon.
