Banff bears are waking up

After a long winter’s nap, the Banff bears are hungry.
Parks Canada says a male grizzly was spotted last week near Castle Junction feeding on a dead deer.
Banff park rangers tell The Calgary Herald it’s normal for male bears to be out at this time of year foraging for food.
Females and cubs will be out from their dens in a few weeks.
Rangers are reminding people going through Banff National Park to carry bear spray and make noise to alert the animals to keep away.
