Alderman calling for cell towers on community centres

One alderman wants community centres to get cell phone towers on their rooftops, so the centres can pocket the cash.
Alderman Ray Jones says while he gets many community complaints about the unsightly towers being built, it’s better to have them on community land.
He says that’s the only way to make sure everyone gets some benefit, while keeping the towers away from homes.
Every tower built could funnel $20,000 to community associations.
Jones will ask city staff to look into the matter and bring back a report in September.
