Leaving your pet’s waste behind on public property can mean a hefty fine of $250.00 dollars.
It is also an offence not to carry something to clean up after your four-legged-friend while out on a walk.
You can also be fined for having excessive waste in your backyard.
If you have welcomed a pet into your home recently, Bill Bruce, Director of Animal and Bylaw services for the city of Calgary, tells 660News, there are numerous ways to register your dog or cat.
Owners can license thier pets online, by mail or by phoning 311.
Bruce adds spaying or nuetering your pet, while keeping it happy and healthy, will lead to fewer complaints from your neighbors.
