A little good news as the flood watch in Southeastern Alberta continues.
The mandatory evacuation order for 41 homes along the Seven Persons Creek in Cypress County has been lifted. However, an evacuation alert for more than 600 homes in Medicine Hat is still in effect.
660 Meteorologist David Spence says it still looks like the situation is going to get worse before it get’s better because another spring snowstorm is headed our way.
“When the system comes into the Calgary area it will start off as snow, but in the Medicine Hat area and Southeastern Alberta it will be warm enough to start off as rain and there could be 10, 15 maybe 20 millimetres of rain in some areas before it turns into snow later on tonight,” says Spence.
A trio of government ministers will tour the area on Wednesday to assess
the situation.
