Alberta oil patch sees job revival

Alberta’s oil patch has seen a big job gain in the last year.

Soaring crude prices have contributed to 70,000 new positions.

Some companies are already hiring to anticipate the next oil boom.

Calgary’s IMV Projects tells The Globe and Mail it’s bringing on at least ten people a week, despite not having enough work yet for all the new staff.

The company says a labour shortage is coming, so it makes sense for them to prepare for it now.
