Mayor calling for Calgary taxi study

Mayor Naheed Nenshi wants to look at changing the taxi industry.

Nenshi wants to examine how taxi plates are issued and why drivers have so little control.

Among other things, the review would see if the taxi-system would work better if more licenses are issued.

According to The Calgary Herald, some aldermen are questioning the need for a study because a wide-ranging overhaul happened less than two years ago.
