Here’s a phrase Canadians haven’t heard for a long time: postal workers strike.
We haven’t had a Canada-wide walkout by postal workers since 1997.
But Sunday, members of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers will wrap up a vote that began March 25th.
CUPW President Denis Lemelin tells The Calgary Herald: “We’ll know how strong the strike mandate is next week.”
45,000 letter carriers and plant workers could go out at midnight, May 24th, or be locked out.
Postal workers are looking for better wages, benefits and pensions.
