EI claims down in Calgary

Fewer people are claiming employment insurance benefits in Calgary.
Statistics Canada says the number of people receiving EI in the city has dropped by 30.2 per cent, or 14,000 people, from February of last year.
Those numbers are in line with the provincial ones, where saw a 22.5 per cent drop in EI recipients.
A spokesperson for Calgary Economic Development tells the Calgary Herald, some benefits have expired, but it also means an increase in job creation.
