Recycle, don’t toss unwanted electronics

Every year hundreds of televisions, computers and radios are thrown into landfills.
The Electronic Recycling Association is trying to curb that number and is holding a drive at Chinook Centre Thursday.
Spokesperson Joanna Trebon tells 660News it’s important to know what to do with your unwanted electronics.
“A lot of people aren’t aware that there are programs to reuse their items prior to having them recycled,” she says.
Any usable items will be donated to charity, while the rest gets recycled.
Thursday’s drive goes until 8 p.m. in front of the Chapters at Chinook Centre.
