16 Calgary public schools up for closure

The city’s public school board is faced with having to close a school a year as inner city enrolment falls.
Sixteen schools in older neighbourhoods are at less than 50 per cent of their capacity.
All of them are facing the possibility of closure after the next school year, which begins in September.
The Calgary Board of Education has already voted to shut down Sir James Lougheed Elementary at the end of this school year.
