Ogden rail yard closing

A historic Calgary site is going out of business.
After 100 years, a Canadian Pacific rail yard in Ogden will no longer repair locomotives and rail cars.
According to The Calgary Herald, 154 workers are affected.
Most of them were offered packages or transfers to other yards in Calgary, Winnipeg or Toronto.
The Ogden site was considered one of the most important in the city for economic growth in the first half of the 20th century.
The yard is scheduled to begin a slow shutdown in August and be fully offline by May 2012.
