Man struck by C-train suffers serious injuries

A man has been rushed to hospital with critical, life threatening injuries after being hit by a C-train at the Franklin LRT station in the city’s southeast.
It happened just before 2:00 Wednesday afternoon causing transit to shut down service.
It has since resumed.
The man’s injuries are said to be massive and severe with trauma to his upper and lower body as well as to his head.
Adam Loria with EMS says it was so bad the train’s driver was understandably jarred by the incident.
“Luckily he wasn’t physically injured but again anytime something like this does happen, it’s very mentally traumatic for the drivers,” says Loria.
Police are still trying to determine how the man came off the platform to land in front of the train.
