Internal polling shows Conservatives don’t have numbers for majority

Senior party insiders have told The Toronto Star the Conservatives don’t have the numbers they need for a majority government.
Internal polling indicates the numbers in Ontario are not great enough to put the Harper government over the top, showing they need 23 more seats in that province to get there.
The last minute push for help is underway. Toronto Mayor Rob Ford is set to publicly endorse Stephen Harper at a Conservative rally in Brampton, Ont., Friday. It will be Ford’s first wade into the federal arena.
The National Post has also officially endorsed Harper, calling the Tories the “clear choice in uncertain times.”
Meanwhile, a new poll has confirmed what many of us already know: Alberta is a Tory stronghold.
Sixty per cent of people in our province say they plan to vote Conservative on May 2nd.
The Environics Poll shows the Liberals and the NDP as tied for second, each with 14 per cent support, while the Greens raked in nine per cent.
