Cleaning up the bottom of the Bow

Calgary’s Bow River received a much needed clean up Sunday.

Members of the CPS Marine Unit watched over some 20 volunteer divers from the Underwater Outlaws Scuba Club, as they scoured the bottom of the Bow.

Const. Ed Perkins tells 660News that this is the second year the team has been out and the clean up started at the 8th Street boat launch.

The team will wrapped things up at Fort Calgary early Sunday afternoon.

The underwater collection was held in conjunction with 44th Annual Pathway and River clean up.

Around 2,000 volunteers were hard at work picking up garbage along the city’s major waterways.
