CBE to take cost-cutting measures

The Calgary Board of Education is taking some cost-cutting measures.
In one move, they’re looking to hike the busing fees by 60 per cent in the coming school year.
The increase works out to $335 per student annually, up from about $200.
They’ve also pulled their float from the Calgary Stampede parade.
Superintendent Naomi Johnson tells The Calgary Herald the CBE can’t justify spending $30,000 to take part given their tight budget.
They hope to sell the float for as much as $10,000.
