Avalanche concerns continue in the back country

The Canadian Avalanche Centre is warning that the threat of avalanches is still quite real in some areas.
Karl Klassen with the CAC tells 660News many people who enjoy summer activities may not be used to having to deal with winter concerns.
“This kind of puts people who may not normally consider themselves to be at risk from avalanches in a position where they might have to think about problems. For example, hikers down in the lower bottom or people running their ATV’s on the logging roads,” says Klassen.
He adds anyone heading out into the mountains in the coming weeks should check conditions ahead of time.
