Calgary gets the senior games

Experienced athletes will be looking to Calgary to host the upcoming Alberta 55 Plus Winter Games.
The event will be held at Canada Olympic Park in February 2013.
The province will fund the games to the tune of $265, 000.
The city of Calgary will provide base funding of $100, 000.
Mayor Naheed Nenshi tells the Calgary Sun that he’s thrilled to have the games in Calgary, taking advantage of the city’s world class facilities.
More than one thousand athletes, their families and spectators are expected to be here for the games.
