Kitchen fire causes extensive damage to Glenbrook home

The fire department had to use an infrared camera to put out a kitchen blaze residents thought was already extinguished.

It happened around 10:00 p.m. Thursday in the southwest community of Glenbrook at a home in the 3000 block of 41st St.

The two people in the home called 911 after they thought they had put the fire out themselves.

That’s when crews used the infrared camera to find there were still flames burning away from plain view and put out what was left.

The damage to the home is said to be extensive.
