Jay Feaster has interim tag removed

After months of speculation the Calgary Flames have announced Jay Feaster is now the team’s official General Manager.

Feaster took over in the front office from Darryl Sutter in late December.  At the time, the Flames were 16-18-3.

Under Feaster, the club posted a 25-11-9 record and almost made the playoffs.

He’s happy to remain in the fold with the organization.

“We have some very, very good and talented people here.  We have a lot of resources to draw on.  I have always said that the most important – operative word in the title of general manager, is not general, but it’s manager.” said Feaster.

Feaster was G.M. of the Tampa Bay Lightning when they won the Stanley Cup in 2004 over the Flames.
