Pests can call your summer getaway home

Your trip to the cabin this weekend may be a creepy crawly experience.
After sitting unused through the fall and winter seasons, a few pests could be hanging out inside your getaway.
Nicholas Holland of Peregrine General Pest Control Inc. tells 660News some deer mice droppings can pose a health risk.
If the hantavirus is present it can become airborne if the droppings are disturbed.
Holland says the best approach to cleaning your cabin is to let the place air out for about twenty minutes by opening the windows and doors.
He adds that wearing a mask and using wet cleaning products can prevent anything from becoming airborne.
