Car fire in the Marlborough area

The Calgary fire department was called to a car fire at the 100 block of Marlyn Place N.E., around 1 a.m. Sunday morning.

Battalion Chief Larry Fisher tells 660News, that the fire spread to a nearby garage.

Fisher says that crews quickly extinguished the vehicle and had to cut the garage doors open because there was a lot of storage in the structure.

The vehicle was completely destroyed and is valued at an estimated $2,000.

There is approximately $10,000 damage to the garage.

The cause is still under investigation.
