Heritage Park opening weekend

It’s a big weekend for Heritage Park.
The park’s Barb Munro says the village is now operating seven days a week and will be all summer.
“The train, the SS Moyie, the Prince House and the Wainwright Hotel and the blacksmith and everybody’s favourites. It’s a great opportunity to see what we’ve got new this year,” says Munro.
She says there are new day camps this summer called Home on the Range for kids aged 10 to 14.
It’s a one-week sleepover camp where kids get to live at the park from Monday to Friday, totally immersed in life as a 1910 ranch hand.
There are half-hour musical melodramas in the Canmore Opera House each weekend by the park’s theatrical troupe which does roving theatre the rest of the week.
Also back this year, Munro says, they really takes people back in time with the townsfolk program which allows them to interact with characters from the past.
For Victoria Day, the first 500 guests to arrive between 9:30 and 10:30 will be treated to a free pancake breakfast with regular admission.
