Taradale fire damages home

The fire department responded to a house fire in the northeast around 8 p.m. on Monday.
It happened in the 30th block of Taralake Cape.
When they arrived, a moderate amount of smoke was coming from the main floor of the two storey home.
Fire damage was contained to the kitchen, while the remainder of the house sustained extensive smoke damage.
No one was injured and all four occupants of the home were accounted for.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, and the initial estimate of damage is around $40,000.
