North-central LRT open houses start

The North-central LRT line isn’t expected to be built for another two decades or so, but the city wants to begin public consultations on where the tracks should go.

The Calgary Herald reports that one option is putting the line through to Nose Creek Valley, although relatively fewer people live there.

Another option is to put the line through Edmonton Trail to serve communities south of McKnight Blvd.

The third option is to put it through Centre Street to serve the greatest number of inner city communities.

The open houses will run this week, with a second round scheduled for the fall.
