University of Calgary scientists involved in NASA’s 2016 voyage will help to find asteroids using lasers.
The three precision lasers will help guide an unmanned probe to land on a distant asteroid.
Once there, the probe will harvest and bring back a few samples of space rock for studies here on earth.
That same asteroid has a one in 1,800 chance of striking our planet in the year 2170.
