Alberta’s famous prairie theatre is celebrating an expansion.
The Rosebud Theatre had a ribbon cutting for its new Mercantile Friday night.
The extra space is home to a bistro and grill, gift shop and conference centre.
The grand opening coincides with centennial celebrations for the building, built in 1911 as a store for the railway.
The Hamlet of Rosebud is 100 kilometres northeast of Calgary and kicks off its summer theatre season, with Jake and the Kid: Prairie seasons, Friday.
