Donations flood in from Albertans

Canadians have been digging deep for disaster relief across the country.

According to the Canadian Red Cross, people have pleged $1.1-million in aid for the relief efforts to help the victims of the Slave Lake fire and the floods in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and BC.

A spokesman with the organization tells the Calgary Sun most of the donations have come from Albertans.

Meantime, the CORE downtown has teamed up with the Cerebral Palsy Association to help victims of the Slave Lake fire.

The CORE says it will match all donations up to $2,500.
