River warnings defied

Some people just couldn’t resist.
Despite warnings and a ban on activity in and along the Bow and Elbow rivers, the Calgary fire Department still had to tell several wannabe rafters to get off the swollen waterways.
Bylaw officers were also patrolling to make sure people stayed away from flooded, low-lying areas.
Most southern Alberta rivers and streams are starting to recede from peak levels, but not in Medicine Hat. A flood watch has been issued there, along the South Saskatchewan River.
