Firebomb may be behind Royal Oak blaze

Fire crews are investigating what may have been a firebombing in Calgary’s far northwest.
The blaze broke out shortly before 9:30 p.m. Wednesday at a home in Royal Oak.
Witnesses say they saw someone throw an object through a window on the lower floor.
The house on Royal Ridge Terrace was empty Thursday morning, being guarded by investigators. The stucco was charred and the second floor windows were blown out by the flames.
One neighbour tells 660News they arrived home an hour after the fire broke out and the blaze had already been extinguished.
The neighbour says he didn’t know the people who lived inside, but he’s glad the fire didn’t damage any other property.
