Fire Department honoured for supporting reservists

Calgary’s Fire Department has been given a national award for supporting Canadian Forces reservists.
There are two reservists who also work for the Fire Department and spokesperson Brian McAsey tells 660News they’re glad to be able to support them in Afghanistan.
“We’re very proud of their courage to go over there, and we’re very proud of the good work that they did,” he says. “I know that they’re involved with everything from making sure that things are peaceful that schools were being rebuilt. I know that one of them was involved with medical responses.
The two reservists nominated the Fire Department for the award.
The honour is handed out every two years to employers from across the country who accommodate reservists’ commitments to the Canadian Forces.
