City workers ready for a strike vote

Job action is looming at City Hall.

Inside workers have rejected the city’s latest three-year offer and plan to hold a strike vote a week from Thursday.

Representatives with Cupe Local 38 say the offer is less than the 4.7 per cent wage increase city council is getting.

The negotiations cover more than 4,000 employees including 311 operators, city planners and bylaw officers.
