CBE bus fees on the rise

Bus fees will be going up for Calgary public school students.
    
The Calgary Board of Education has voted to take a middle-ground option to make up for an $8.8-million transportation budget shortfall.

It means parents will have to foot part of the bill and there will be a handful of layoffs.

Elementary and junior high charter fees will rise about $10 a month and a cap on how much a single family pays has been eliminated.

Kindergarten bussing fees are going up by about $1.50 a month.
