Spruce Meadows season gets underway

Spruce Meadows starts up its summer season Wednesday with its national tournament.

About $850,000 in prize money is up for grabs during five days of show jumping competitions.

Huge names are here for the event including American Beezie Madden and Canada’s own Eric Lamaze with his horse Hickstead.

The 15-year-old stallion was named the top horse at last year’s World Equestrian Games.
