Action-pack weekend in Calgary and area

There are plenty of festivals and events to take in this weekend in Southern Alberta.
In Calgary, there is the Carifest, an annual Caribbean festival and carnival, which features a gospel show, movie night and parade at Olympic Plaza.

There’s also a basic course to help people learn the way of the Shaman. That’s being held by the Foundation for Shamanic Studies Saturday and Sunday at the West Hillhurst Community Association. Click here for more information.
There are also plenty activities out of town.
The Festival of the Lady Bug is taking place at Priddis Valley Gardens, where spectators will help release 100-thousand ladybugs into the wild. Click here for more infomation.
The Prairie ‘n Peaks Quilt Festival is being held in Pincher Creek and includes displays, guest speakers, trunk shows, a merchant mall, appraisals, a quilt challenges and workshops. Click here for more information.
