An Invermere, B.C. family is grieving following the death of their two year old son.
The family and friends, with four children in tow, were setting up camp at Cartwright Lake near Briscoe, B.C., when the two-year-old wandered away from the group.
He was quickly located, but in shallow water only feet from shore.
The boy’s father, and later RCMP officers, performed CPR on the toddler. He was then taken to hospital in Invermere before being airlifted to Alberta Children’s Hospital in Calgary where he died early Saturday morning.
The Calgary Herald reports the name of the family has not been released at its request.
