It was a grim task for Calgary firefighters and EMS Sunday morning.
They had to free a young man’s arm after it was caught in an Auger at a work site on 76th avenue southeast.
It took 25 minutes to free the man’s arm and because of the stressful nature of the call, Battalion Chief Larry Fisher says crews were debriefed.
A stress team is speaking with firefighters involved.
Paramedics rushed the man to hospital in stable condition, with severe injuries to his lower left arm
They say although the injury may have lasting effects, his arm should heal with time.
