Report warns against expanding LRT no-pay zone

A new report warns against extending the LRT free fare zone to the Stampede station, because of the extra security needed for monitoring.

There are also concerns some people may just park there before taking the C-Train downtown.

The report heads to a city committee on Wednesday to outline some of the pros and cons of extending that section of the LRT line.

If council does expand the no-pay zone, it would cost the city an estimated $2-million a year in revenue.
