City workers strike vote set for Thursday

Four thousand city workers in Calgary are set to take a strike vote on Thursday.
The Herald reports, the city and its largest union will hold another bargaining session on Wednesday.
The two sides remain apart on wage increases after months of negotiations and even bringing in a mediator.
The union represents civil servants such as assessors, traffic engineers and building inspectors.
If a vote is successful and a deal cannot be reached, the union is planning rotating strikes to start later this month.
