VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Vancouver Canucks fans will be able to watch tonight’s game on a big screen the intersection of Georgia and Hamilton and on Homer, near Georgia.
Georgia Street between Cambie and Richards Streets will close starting noon today.
Nineteen downtown liquor stores will also be closed again at the request of the province starting at 4 p.m., as about 100,000 people are expected to flood the streets.
“We expect lots of people downtown during the games and after the games as well,” explains Mayor Gregor Robertson. “We are closing Granville Street for a number of blocks. That number will increase, depending on how many people come downtown.”
There are other viewing locations across the Lower Mainland.

Game day forecast
News1130 Meteorologist Russ Lacate is predicting a high of 18 degrees and nothing but sunshine.
“Ideal springtime weather conditions at all the live sites for the end of the afternoon and the early evening hours. The wind will die down, skies will be clearing. Go ahead and enjoy the sunshine as the puck drops, just be prepared for a bit of a cool down after sunset.”
